"Sweet"
in Serbian, slatko is a typical Serbian specialty. Each
hospitality ceremony starts with slatko and slivovitz,
a well-known plum brandy.
Slatko
is hand made, in traditional manner by experienced housewives
and cooks. It is prepared in huge open pots used only
ones a year just for cooking slatko on wood-burning
stovs. The product is completely natural . Occasionally,
exposed to neat, sugar miht crustallise, however this
does not alter its quality.
Slatko
consists of whole fruits that can be recognized in thick
syrup. It is served in small bowl with a glass of fresh
water. Usually a guest takes one teaspoon of slatko
from the bowl and a sip of water (if someone wants to
take more, it should be done with another spoon).
